A puppet-based videogame

Fogtown isn't just a TV series: we're also developing a rich narrative videogame with the same world and characters.

We're filming scenes in the same style as the show, but stringing them together in a highly entertaining interactive format, where player choices guide our plucky detectives through a devilishly difficult (and uproarious) case.

A Rum Case in Fogtown is the first chapter of an intended series. A hands-on playable demo debuted at the 2024 Adventure Game Fan Fair, where it received enthusiastic feedback from adventure game legends like Ken & Roberta Williams (the creators of King's Quest) and Jane Jensen (writer/designer of the Gabriel Knight series).

My role

As the game director on Fogtown, I've led a talented team of writers, puppeteers, programmers and fabricators to create a playable demo, and are targeting a full release in 2026.

Just like with the TV series, I shoot, edit, and direct the video sequences that form the bulk of our gameplay experience, as well as lending a hand or two to the puppetry as needed.

Some enthusiastic players of our demo at the Bay Area Maker Faire 2024.
